Martin (JaeWoo) KIM Partner

    Mr. Kim is a registered patent attorney with expertise in electrical and electronic engineering. He is mainly responsible for matters related to 3D image processing, semiconductor circuits, digital circuit and analog circuit design (SoC, ASIC), hardware security (e.g., PUF), and a variety of other like fields. In this capacity, he has successfully handled patent applications, IP Trial and Appeal Board (IPTAB) cases and litigations for more than 14 years. 


    In parallel, since 2014, Mr. Kim has been striving to expand his business areas, which now additionally include medical devices, medical image processing, healthcare systems, wearable devices, artificial intelligence (A.I.) and payment/fintech (payment/FIN Tech). In these areas, he provides comprehensive consulting on technology and intellectual property rights, including guidance on patent dispute strategies and technology research and development.


    He is also certified as a Company/Technical Valuation Analyst (Certified Valuation Analyst) and appraises technology and intellectual property assets.


    Mr. Kim received his Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Korea University, in Seoul . During his undergraduate studies, he focused on and participated in projects for circuit design, communication system design, and power quality issues.


    Since 2007, he has been working at Muhann Patent & Law firm.  He is a member of the Korean Patent Attorney Association (KPAA). In 2019, he was invited to be a member of the Law Revision Committee of the Ministry of Science, Technology, Information and Communications, an executive body of the Korean Government.  As a committee member, Mr. Kim advises the government on decision-making and legislative procedures.
